How did these problems occur?

There are the obvious reasons such as slips and falls, which we may or may not have witnessed but also more subtle causes such as the cumulative effects of always mounting from the same side, a slightly unbalanced rider, conformational defects, poor foot balance.  It is also important to take into consideration the fitting of tack and potential dental issues.

The body will compensate for imbalance or discomfort, these compensations can result in muscle tightness, altered weight distribution and subsequent vertebral misalignments.  Back problems are often secondary to the main issue.

EQUINOLOGY® EQUINE BODY WORK

Picture
EEBW is a method of applying sports massage, soft tissue mobilization, stretching and range of motion techniques, as well as “focal” point work (stress and trigger points) in order to address muscle dysfunction.  Specifically adapted soft tissue techniques compliment McTimoney adjustments and work to provide a fully bespoke session for each horse.

All aspects of the horse or dogs daily routine, exercise plan, farriery, type of tack and fit, veterinary history, behavior etc. will be taken in to account during my visit to ensure a fully synchronized plan of action can be constructed, allowing the most benefit to be gained from each session.

EQUISSAGE

Equissage delivers a unique three way cyclic massage, encouraging the healing process by:

-  Improving local blood circulation
-  Improving venous drainage
-  Improving lymphatic drainage and reducing swelling
-  Releasing muscle tension

The Equissage back pad is used for 20minutes before a McTimoney treatment.  Equissage encourages the patient to become more receptive as the muscles relax allowing the adjustments to take more of an effect.
